There is NO Substitute for more Cubic

Complete and Ready to Go. Mention stoker motors around Harley riders, an you'll hear the name Truett & Osborn time and again. Why? In over 30 Years, Truett & Osborn flywheels have never failed, even under the torturous horsepower loads generated in top fuel racing. Every individually crafted Truett & Osborn high performance stroker flywheeel begins as a 80-55-06 ductile (nodular) iron blank, which is then heat treated to 220-250 BHN. The 80,000 pound tensile strength blanks undergo an exacting 20-step manufacturing process, utilizing both CNC and conventional precision milling and machining. This insures accurate surfaces, legendary reliability, and excellent "truability", an absolute necessity when setting up high performance motors to blueprint specifications. One of the major causes of catastrophic engine failure is the shifting of the crankpin relative to the flywheel under heavy load. And that's why perhaps the most critical production step is grinding the crankpin tapers to time-proven and torture-tested tolerances, derived from years of actual experience. Combined with the unique properties of the raw materials used during manufacture, this stage assures an ideal fit and a secure grip between the components, virtually eliminating any possibility of slipping. All Truett & Osborn flywheels are complete with factory installed, user replaceable, bronze thrust washers, providing an optimum wear surface for connecting rod side-play. Made entirely in the USA, Truett & Osborn
flywheels are available for both Sportsters and Big-Twins, in strokes from 3-1/2
to 5 inches. Depending on piston-cylinder and flywheel configuration,
displacements in excess of 125 cubic inches are possible. Our FlyWheels are Guaranteed not to break ...... Even in the blistering conditions of Top Fuel!
Contact us if you would like any "Custom" Stroke
not listed. It is necessary to raise prices of our flywheels due to rising costs associated with production. We have not had a price increase in over 10 years, but we can no longer absorb the continued substantial cost increases of material, labor, fuel, and especially heat treating. A critical step in insuring top quality flywheels, the cost of heat treating has more than tripled in the past several years. Therefore the price of Truett & Osborn flywheels ordered after July 14, 2007 will be $40.00 more than before, standard weight flywheels for big twins will be $285.00. Flywheels for sportster models and 45 cubic inch will also be $285.00. TorqueMonster flywheels for big twins will be $335.00. We regret this increase and the severity of it. As inflation continues we will try to keep pace yearly to avoid such a drastic increase. Thank you for all your past business and we hope to continue to do business in the future.
4 1/2" stroke for the stock 74 cubic inch bore gives approximately 86 cubic inches and is very easy to build for a dependable street setup. Our original "Big-Twin" wheels weigh 28 pounds, compared to 34 pounds stock. The timing mark when centered in the timing hole is 35° BTC for the Big-Twins. Our Big-Twin Torque Monster flywheels are four pounds heavier than our original stroker flywheels, and five pounds heavier than stock EVOs ... for plenty of low end torque..... The perfect solution for restoration projects.
